Although graphic design is my trade professionally, I’ve always been drawn to the paper arts. Now, being able to combine the airtight precision of digital technology with the fluid imperfection of crafting has completely re-imagined the possibilities of what tiny 1/4” strips of paper can do.

This piece was a wedding present for a couple who live in Washington and love adventuring throughout the great PNW. The bride is a little witchy, so I started with a "Lovers" tarot card concept. Instead of the traditional skeletons imagery, I opted for a moon and sun complementing each other as the focal point, then added in Mount Rainier, some jewel tones, and trees. Matted with blue suede and ultimately placed in a cream colored shadow box.
This is another wedding gift for a bride who is a lover of plants, and a groom who is a lover of the ocean. They incorporated a Celtic hand fasting ceremony into their wedding, so I based the whole design off of the Celtic love knot. The negative space inside the knot acts as the focal point, while the blues, purples, and greens surround it in a wild representation of nature.
This piece was made for my brother's birthday. He's a skateboarder who spends a lot of time outside and can appreciate the small things in nature – including mushrooms 😀. I wanted it to be as colorful and pleasing to the eye as possible.
This is the project that got me hired at Electra! The Creative Director wanted a theme for that year's Electra Catalog that was unlike anything seen in the bike industry. She contacted me to create 10 unique quilling pieces to feature as section dividers. We worked together to concept each piece – including typography, layout, color, and theme. A couple employees in the German offices like the designs so much, they screen printed them on t-shirts. 😊
I'm always open to new types of quilling projects! If you have an idea for a commissioned piece, please contact me here to get the conversation started.
